OUR AIM
Our aim is that the children feel happy and fulfilled during their time at the nursery; that they will become confident and independent; and that they will have a love for learning.
This will prepare them to adapt to other schools and be part of society.
We help children to develop a deep awareness of each other’s needs and the environment, to show concern and care for everyone and everything that is part of the world.
THE MONTESSORI METHOD
Dr. Maria Montessori (1870-1952) devised her educational method from her own observations of children. She believed that children have a natural desire to learn and work, if the conditions are right. The Montessori method of education is concerned with the intellectual, social and emotional upbringing of the child. All aspects of the child’s education should be equal. No aspect should be developed at the expense of any other.
At Little Tree Montessori children have the freedom to explore the full range of Montessori materials. The classrooms are very carefully designed and prepared so that everything is child size and within their reach. We maintain a peaceful and calm atmosphere for learning in a safe and orderly environment. The children work at their own pace with material, which is stimulating and purposeful. Every child wants to learn. There is no need to force them.
STAFF
We pride ourselves on having a high staff-to-child ratio and a low staff turnover. All our teaching staff are Montessori qualified teachers who are highly dedicated to their work with the children and have a long-term commitment to the Little Tree family.
